Mission – our no 1 priority
It’s official…the primary aim of this Presbytery is mission!
Mission is essential to the identity of each of one of our congregations. It is ‘not in any sense an “add-on”’.

The
Mission Committee
The Committee exists to encourage mission and training for mission throughout the Presbytery. We also keep abreast of ideas and resources in the field of mission and try to pass these on to congregations.
What’s out there to help us?
I guess that, for many of us, mission is a daunting idea. We are struggling to keep going with what and who we have without adding even more to our burden. However, worry not! I doubt that there has been any time in the church’s history when mission has been better resourced. Right at the forefront of understanding and promoting mission is the church’s own
Mission and Discipleship Council. They provide regular updates on conferences, web-sites, book and other ideas. The web-link is listed below along with a number of other organisations which offer help with doing mission in all its forms. However, if you have any sources that you would like to see added to this list, please do let me know.
Does
Mission have to be high-tech?
No! Mission is for everyone: ‘God uses ordinary people as “angels” – messengers of good news’. A book – You’re an Angel – has been written specifically ‘to make any Christian say, “I could do that!”’.
…and finally
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with ideas, advice or information.
May you know the grace of God, the power of the Spirit and the presence of the Son who has sent you out into the world with Good News.
